This is what we do.
The board of the foundation meets at least twice a year. The progress of the activities is discussed during each meeting. Financial accountability is also discussed. Developments and expectations. Since 2009 a number of projects have been started and completed and these have been done on private initiative:
Bus transport school children: this project is going very well. At the moment (2021) 8 school buses are running. Lamin is in charge of this.
Well to develop garden in Lamin Village.
Water well for building houses and later for drinking water.
Water well for the living conditions of Lamin's mother.
“Sales shop” for Ramou, who, because of her disability, no longer has to begging.
And we’re planning a lot more.
Further expansion of school children's transport.
If the project with Ramou works well, offer even more people with disabilities this opportunity.
Immediate aid in case of food emergency, bringing bags of rice.
Give the village school in Killy even more help. We are already doing this together with SEBC International Highschool.
Replacement and maintenance of the school buses.
Supporting two children on the island of Flores, through the Rupingh Foundation.
In realizing this policy plan we have the help of Lamin Jallow in The Gambia as contact person. All transactions and activities, which are carried out there by the local population, run through him. The foundation tries to achieve its goals by:
donate school materials
financing current or new projects
sending things that are of better quality here, especially bus parts
How do we do this?
The completed and ongoing projects are visited and checked by regular visits (at least twice a year) that are not at the expense of the foundation. Future projects are also discussed. In the coming years, the foundation will continue to develop activities and plans. Much attention will be paid to the brand awareness of the foundation. Its own website will be launched in 2021. Financing the annual activities will also be high on the agenda in the coming years. Structural donors will be sought for these activities. Additional activities may also be possible.
Our policy plan
This is the policy plan 2021-2026 of De Bolle Buik Foundation Gambia Foundation. In this period, the foundation wants to realize a number of material things that are important for our “ongoing” projects. Our incidental projects will all aim to enable the project participants to independently provide for their own basic necessities. We always try to work with the “locals” themselves.
